| When,
at the beginning of 1900's, some real pioneers like intelligent
tour operators. named this tiny piece of land kissed by sea, sun
and green of its hills, "Costa Fiorita", created without knowing,
a tourist symbol that would be became famous during the years, in
opposition to the birth of Costa Azzurra or Costiera Amalfitana.

| Castiglioncello,
Quercianella and the other resorts of Costa Fiorita, became places
of cultural and refined tourism, with many important personages:
wrriters. literaturels men and artists like 'Macchiaioli' Painters
who were among the best "tourists" and who immortalised the Coast
in their famous Works. Art, culture. nature, this is the charming
dose union that made famous this Coast. During the 60's Gassman,
Sordi, Visconti, Mastroianni, Zeffirelli and many others habitually
patronised this beautiful place and they named it Castiglioncello,
all together with Costa Fiorita, "The Thyrrenian Sea's Pearl" such
as Capri. Portofino, Taormina, Amalfi, and so on. Staying in Costa
Fiorita meaned elegance. But also simplicity, thanks to time-honoured
traditions' culture. Nowadays Costa Fiorita presents itself again
with the same ancient traditions: an unpolluted and beautiful countryside
(UE Blue Flags), tourist structures not overwhelm by mass tourism
but, in the same time, well organised to satisfy tourist actual
exigencies. For all lovers of this kind of tourism that goes against
the general trend and for all who want a relaxing and quiet atmosphere,
wild rocky cliffs and fascination of the typical Tuscan country,
it is necessary to follow Roman and Etruscan's example who found
in these places genuine, simple, but beautiful things. |
