Bibbona
Bibbona's pituresque Historical center, built up arraund the church of Sant'Ilario, has preserved its medieval appearance; The village of BIBBONA has been built in the from of a set of concentric circles, connected by narrow streets and steps. Marina di Bibbona, on the coast, is a modern and well-equipped seaside resort offering offering good accomodation (hotel and camping sites)and sports facilities. The stretch of pinewood and scrub delineating the beach and its" dune" offers an interesting natural environment. The rural landscape, reclained in leopold's times, is dominated by typically Tuscan vine and olive cultivation
The area of Parco Naturale near BIBBONA stretches along the Tyrrhenian coast from Principina a Mare to,Cecina,Bibbona,Castiglioncello,Livorno. The Park is characterized by important geographical elements such as the last stretch of the river Ombrone, the orographic system of the mountains of the Uccellina which reaches 417 meters of height in Poggio Lecci, the marsh area of the Trappola, and the coast which is both sandy and characterized by steep cliffs
The coastal tract of the Maremma Toscana which goes from Principina a Mare to Leghorn was declared Parco Naturale della Maremma in 1975 (Legge Regione Toscana - Toscana Regional Decree - n.° 65 del 5 giugno 1975). It extends for about 100 square kilometers and borders on the sea both in the South and in the South West. In the North the park is characterized from seasides where species have adapted to the sandy territory of the park. Coming away from the seaside the park is inhabited by species which are typical of the Mediterranean maquis. During the centuries and also during the last decades the coast has changed its shape both in the South and in the North. From a naturalistic point of view the park makes up a very valuable network of ecosystems thanks to the complex formed by Monti dell'Uccellina, the pinewood of Marina di Alberese, the mouth of river Ombrone and the Paludi della Trappola.
The equilibrium of the climate exceptionally distributed on the territory in the most particular microclimates that they concur here the cultivation of the olive trees, here of the vine from red grape, more in here of the vine from white grape, and then at times the spontaneous increase of "macchia mediterranea" lowland in proximity of the sea, little higher little hundreds than meters from the sea, and therefore various in the kinds of plants, then immediately the spots become forests of "lecci", and then a bit more there they become beeches, junipers, oaks, everything always adorned from the presence of a myriad of marine pines in proximity of the sea, domestic pines as soon as little in the entroterra, twisted from the wind on the beach or high and majestic in the internal plain, and then a bit more rares and nearly suffering on hills where they are in company of the cypresses that watch from the small reliefs the plowed fields, seeded and milled to grain, in order then to come down to go along the Tree-lined avenue of Bolgheri where “ i cipressi che a Bolgheri alti e stretti van da San Guido in Duplice filar ….(poet Giosué Carducci)”, then one sweet curve and we go towards the inside to find the Senese, to inebriate to the smell of the Brunello di Montalcino, to watch ancient patrizie dwellings and majestic farmsteads in cooked and stone, to lick rivulets, streams, rivers and then the Arno into Florence and a new time down down more till north, towards Pisa, the fashionable beach of the Versilia with reflected in the sea the Alps Apuane; and then a dive in this blue sea and there you can see a little island, the Meloria, and of forehead the Capraia, the Gorgona, the sky is blue, smooth, what is over there? Elba, Pianosa, the Giglio, in this From Tuscany Archipelago are many pieces of Tuscany, with the same vegetation of the mainland, the fascination of the seas storm of libeccio that they fold the secular pines and they force the mirto to be low, the lecci has shapes from ancient fighters here because the wind would want to uproot them and they resist and they become muscular during the years. What is of beautiful on this sea is incredible, gulls, cormorani, tonni, dolphins, squaletti, all accompany to us to earth that stands out by now clear within the horizon, this earth that here, now, smells of Maremma, lagoon, ancient marshes, of indescibable swamps saltish, natural parks, Capalbio, Talamone, Orbetello how many villages and little villages, the takeovers of the Etruschi to Populonia are melted with medioeval Buildings, the Medicee Towers to scan the sea, Villas Roman to tell us how nice, here, there is from a thousand of years. |
